I’m not a fan of pork chops. I think it’s a repressed memory of when I was younger and my mom use to “Shake-n-Bake” them all the time. (Love you, Mom!) I stopped eating them all together until Waylon bought some and grilled them one night. They were pretty good. Now pork chops are circulating on our monthly menu. Well, today was a “pork chop” day and I didn’t know what to do with them. I didn’t want to bake them with rice and I really didn’t want to fry them, so I decided it was a nice enough day out, I’m going to grill them. Who’s going to grill them?! Me. I wasn’t afraid. Just hungry.
I can grill hamburgers and hot dogs, but when it comes to steak and other cuts of meat, forget it! I will leave that job for Waylon. Since Waylon works nights, I am on my own. I found this simple recipe and went ahead and marinaded the chops for an hour. The recipe calls to marinade for 3-5 hours, but I didn’t have time.
1/4 cup olive oil
2 1/2 TB Soy Sauce
1 tsp steak seasoning(such as Montreal Steak seasoning)
They came out so delicious! Anyone living in Leander, go outside right now, you can probably still smell them! They were grilled for 6-8 minutes and they didn’t come out dry, had good flavor and I enjoyed eating the pork chop. The best part of all is that I grilled them and they still came out good. Waylon is going to be so proud! (This doesn’t mean I’m taking over grilling, either)
